The Chico Mothers’ Club (CMC) holds a special place in my heart. After almost 10 years of membership, with 8 of them helping to run the club, I can tell you just about anything and everything you’d want to know about this amazing group of women and children. There really is something for everyone, and that’s a big part of what makes CMC so special.
My goal for this article is to help moms sort out the benefits from the perks and help you decide whether CMC is right for you. Here are the DOs and DON’Ts of joining the club:
DON’T just join CMC for:
- The Member Perks card - which gives members discounts to locally owned businesses
- The Meal Trains for births, medical emergencies, and other challenging circumstances
- The Mama Basket full of mama-focused goodies when your baby arrives
- The private marketplace where you can buy, sell, and trade with local vetted moms
- All the savings you’ll receive from getting reimbursed a portion of the costs when we go out for coffee, get pedicures, or see a movie together
- The opportunities to highlight your business to 250+ local families
- The various chances to win cash and prizes from Bunco, fitness challenges, raffles, and giveaways
DO join CMC for:
- The support, advice, answers, and referrals from the private Facebook group
- The opportunities you and your children have to learn something new by going on field trips and private tours
- The fun your kids will have at club-wide and age-based playdates
- The skills and creativity your kids will use doing crafts together
- The monthly support group for moms who are pregnant all the way through baby’s first birthday
- The memories you’ll make with your whole family at seasonal parties
- The camaraderie you’ll share by playing Bunco, joining the Book Club, going out for coffee, or attending the weekly walks in the park
- All the chances to get a break from motherhood at Moms Night Out
- The lifelong friendships you and your children will build by joining a playgroup
- The connections you’ll make with a diverse group of moms who all want the best for our kids
- The community!
Community, friendship, camaraderie, connections, inclusivity, and making memories with each other and our kids is really what matters, and what CMC is all about!
